The Christmas season is a wonderful time to get together with family and friends to enjoy each other’s company, reminisce on days gone by, and create new memories. I have great memories of visiting my grandparents in Carlsbad, California during the holidays. Christmas day we would drive our big blue van down to their house to be with my grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. My grandfather would set up large tables all throughout the house to fit all of us for a wonderful Christmas feast. My grandmother prepared for the day baking such tasty breads, and cookies, desserts, hams, and turkeys; all of the aunts and uncles would bring their best treats. It was a true cornucopia of meats, breads, and sugary goodness; I don’t know what I enjoyed more, getting together with my cousins to play with our brand new toys or stuffing myself full of treats and goodies. The family would always gather around the food, enjoying good conversation and delicious gluttony.
There must have been over 30 of us there every Christmas.
